Product Description
This is an usual East German canteen and cup with what appears to be a soldier's modified carrying harness. The canteen features the distinctive "rain" pattern insulated cover and plastic water bottle with screw cap but includes an adjustable grey canvas shoulder strap and carrier. We pulled this from our last batch of NVA canteens we received from Europe and have left it as is. Synthetic strapping material with metal roller buckle and hardware show minor corrosion and the cup is missing one handle (see pictures). Bottle holds approximately 1 qt. of fluid. Measures approx. 5 1/2 x 3 1/4 x 9"h. A very interesting piece of Eastern Bloc equipment. One only.
