Jack Boots with Hobnails w/ Heavy Duty Soles

Amazing quality, you can tell these are quality boots and for a great price.

Ive had the boots for about a week or two now and ive been practicing drill and whatnot for reenactment and they have held together and proved to be very comfortable, they are also very high qualith and a good alternative to other sites boots that are extremely expensive around the $400 range

The boots came in and they are very well made with decent hobnails, they are a much more budget friendly, quality, option compared to ATF's boots

I normally wear a size 10 boot. I ordered the 10 and they fit perfectly. There is a breaking in process because the boots are thick genuine leather. Very Satisfied with the purchase!

I have owned these boots for around a couple months now. I really like them and this is my third pair of boots from Hessian Antique (I own a pair of the dress jack boots and a pair of the custom order riding boots when Hessian used to offer them). This was my first pair of boots with Hobnails and that being said, it took a little getting used to. On certain surfaces like tile flooring, it is almost like walking on ice so be careful. They can also be damaging to certain types of flooring so be aware of that as well. I have read another review saying he had heard the nails were weak and I can say after a couple of months of wearing them on a job site walking on various pavement, concrete, and other types of flooring, several of the nails have almost completely flattened. I'm on the heavier side so I may look into getting a set of steel Hobnails from another site and trying them when I eventually have the boots resoled. As for the heel irons, they look to be about the same as the day I got them.

Good boots BUT BEWARE! Hessen Antique recommends dubbing the boots with Sno-Seal (which they sell) BUT applying heat to these boots, which is necessary in order to dub them with Sno-Seal as per the instructions, will damage the glue holding the boots together! I dubbed my boots with Sno-Seal and the very first time I used them the bottom layer of the sole (the one that has all the hobnails attached to it) peeled off. I contacted Hessen Antique to see if they could assist me in any way and Hessen Antique informed me that the heat from applying the Sno-Seal may have compromised the boots’ glue and they could do nothing to help me. I find this to be absolute bogus because they recommend dubbing these boots, along with every reproduction leather boot they sell, with Sno-Seal and they also sell Sno-Seal on the site! At the end of the day I believe I can repair them myself, but I was incredibly disappointed and frustrated with this whole ordeal. I don’t know why one would recommend and sell a product that can potentially destroy the integrity of another product they sell. They are great boots so don’t let this review prevent you from buying them, just do NOT dub them with Sno-Seal!

As my first pair of boots, these are amazing, I’ve seen some people say the nails and irons are week but they’ve definitely stood up well so far. After a bit of walking around, and a nice hike, they’re still in, very good. Priced very honestly, and very fast shipping

I'm a 4E wide, so I worried I wouldn't be able to even get these boots on, but they are a perfect fit, maybe a little snug, but I'm sure they'll break in nicely.
