Product Description
Original, WWII US Army Rucksack, Framed. This is a U.S. Army M1942 Mountain Rucksack with a metal frame, officially designated specification J.Q.D. 88B by the Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depot. Designed to provide a better pack solution for mountain troops. This pack was manufactured by PROTECTION PRODUCTS COMPANY in 1943, as marked on the inside of the top flap.
This pack is in very good condition, and still has the Rifle Strap, Rifle Hook and Waist Strap "Belly-Band." Like many of these, There are two wear/tear sposts to the right side panel from straping the M1 Rifle. These can be easily repaired and there are some small paint stains. All seen in the photos. Other than that it is complete and intact. This is a great chance to pick up a very nice example of this U.S. Army mountain backpack used by 10th Mountain Division, First Special Service Force and Company B of the 503rd Parachute Battalion.
