The first Grand Cross of the Iron Cross (Großkruez) was instituted in 1813 by King Fredrick William III of Prussia then subsequently recommissioned in 1870 by Kaiser Wilhelm for service during the Franco-Prussian War. The Grand Cross of the iron cross was awarded for outstanding military valor above and beyond the call of duty. These are very nice reproductions featuring sharp details and very nice frosted or antiqued silver plating. Includes neck ribbon.
