BALLISTOL was developed in Cologne, Germany in 1904 and saw service in the German army from 1905 to 1945 as an universal lubricant used on weapons, wood and leather. A medically and environmentally safe pure white oil, Ballistol is an excellent preservative, cleaner and lubricant for metal yet is safe enough to use on minor skin abrasions. Bottles similar to theses would have been issued and carried by German soldiers in their personal kit. 4 Fluid Oz. non-aerisol can. This is great stuff and many of the German vets I've met through the years swear by it. It is still used today extensively by German soldiers, hunters and shooters.
