A Hessen Antique Exclusive! Handcrafted in Germany by a master tailor. These exquisite Dunkelblau (Dark Blue) pre-war tunics are the finest reproductions you will find on the market today. Our limited run of Prussian style infantry dunkelblau Waffenrock feature fine "doeskin" blue wool with bright red wool standing collar and Brandenburg style cuffs, eight brass buttons down the single-breasted front, and are piped in red. These tunics are fully lined with all the features of the originals with period style private tailors label. Although being phased out by the beginning of the First World War these tunics still remained popular with the Prussian and other German States' "professional" career officers and soldiers for walking-out, parade, and other formal occasions. Prussian infantry Blue Uniform tunic
The measurements for chest and collar are OUTSIDE measures. I wear a size 40/42L jacket and size 16 x 35 shirt, and this coat properly fits. The sleeves extend to the thumb joint, which is correct. The quality of the wool and tailoring is very good. There are correct pockets in the coat tails and a large inside breast pocket. The buttons are officer quality with full backs. There is just the right stiffening in the collar. The lining is cotton but the overall look and feel of the coat lends itself to an officer version. This is. a very nice item.
