The Kreta cuff tile was institued in on 16 October 1942. This was intended as a campaign honor, making the cuff title the equivalent of a campaign medal. The Kreta cuff title was awarded to personnel of the Army, Navy and Air Force who: (a) made a parachute or glider landing on Crete between 20-27 May 1941, or (b) took part in the air operations over Crete, or (c) had been on active service at sea in the Crete theatre of during operations up to 27 May 1941. These were also worn on the left sleeve of the service and dress uniforms. These are extremely fine quality cuff titles, hand embroidered on white twill.
