The Submarine badge (U-Bootkriegsabzeichen) was institued in 1939 to recognize all officers, NCO's and crew who served on submarines in combat operations against enemy forces. Criteria for the award specified that the Salior take part in at two separate sorties. This is an excellent quality die struck reproduction.

Good badge, not so great at putting on
I loved this badge as soon as I first held it, great weight, amazing material, but when I tried to put it in my uniform it simply wouldn't stab through, I had to carefully use a knife to do so, so if you purchase this have a needle ready!
