Original East German Sturmgewehr Magazine Pouch Set. Starting in 1946 the East German Volkspolizei were armed with Wehrmacht small arms to include the MP-44. From 1948 till 1956 the Kasernierte Volkspolizei (KVP), who were the predecessors of the East German Army (NVA), were also equipped with the MP-44 until being replaced with the PPSH-41. This pouch set was made East Germany during that period. As with most early East German gear, there are no maker marks. Pouches are made of heavy canvas with pebbled leather reinforcements and tabs. Set shows it's age and some wear, but both are overall in Good Condition. This pouch set came out of East Germany in 1990 as part of a large grouping of Original WWII and Early DDR items.
