Original WWII, U.S. Military M6 Steel Tool Chests were manufactured in the early 1940's but were never issued and sat in warehouses in Europe for over 70 years! Still in their original 1942 packaging.
WWII era, manufactured in 1942 by Metal Box and Cabinet Corporation, Chicago. M6 Steel Chest, Lockable Storage Case, MBC Tool Box has Metal latches, includes original key. Top tray lifts out to expose larger compartment below. Made of steel and painted OD green. Dimensions: 22" x 8.9" x 9.1"h., Weight: 12 lbs., 6 oz.
Although these are new and unissued they do show signs of long term storage. The cardboard boxes were packed in Tar paper lined wooden crates and so they are not pristine, but can be cleaned up. Some handles did not age well and may need to be replaced (easy to find and install replacements available on line). Insides of the chest are very clean.
