The SA (Sturmabteilung) Sports badge was originally awarded in bronze to SA and SS personnel who passed physical fitness, military defense and field exercises requirements set by SA-Stabschef Ernst Röhm starting in 1933. Later, in an effort to create a more physically fit German people, Hitler allowed the award to be bestowed on all German nationals as well as expanded grades to include silver and gold in 1935. This silver grade award is an excellent quality reproduction with quality pins and maker's marks.
