Sniper's Badge (Scharfschützenabzeichen) was instituted on August 20, 1944 and awareded to Soldiers who served as snipers. It was worn on the right sleeve above all the other insignia. The award was bestowed in three classes. The second class (with silver trim) was awarded for 40 kills.
