Original U.S. Army Women's Axillary Corps (WAC) "Army Beige" Service Uniform. Made of Tropical Weight Worsted Wool. The Army Beige uniform was introduced in 1954 to replace the much disliked "Taupe" uniform and was very popular during the 1950-1960's until it was replaced by the Army Green Uniform. Originally worn with Cafe brown collar tab and shoes, in 1962 these were replaced by a Black collar tab and shoes. The new Army Green Service Hat could also be worn with the uniform after 1962. This vintage WAC uniform was worn by WAC's and Army Nurses until the mid 1960's.
