These new Imperial German leather gaiters or "Rindleder-Gamaschen" are constructed of heavy duty brown leather with two strap and buckle closure.These were designed to be worn with the officers' lace-up boots in place of ridding boots. They were also worn by NCO's, Pioneer and other mounted troops. These Offizier Gamaschen are excellent reproductions with all the details of the originals. They are adjustable and will fit most people. Color of leather may vary from photos. Sold in pairs.

Super High Quality
Contrary to the small guy review, I'm a larger guy 6'4", 300. These were too small for my calves. Can make work by adding a longer attaching tounge but they don't cover my calf at all. Middle sized guy these are perfect for and well worth the cost.

unnecessarily Large
These out of the box are well made with thick quality leather but are not for everybody, at their smallest the inner dimension is just under 16 inches at the calf, this is far larger than men's average calf sizes at any age so be warned without some leatherworking tools these are not usable for the slim to an average sized reenactor and as with most of Hessen's inventory are aimed for the larger individual. I wish this was more clearly displayed. It is not an exceptionally hard process to make them fit small and average calfs but can be time-consuming.
