The Kuban Shield (Kubanschild) was institued in on 21 September 1943 and was awared to all members of the armed forces who were engaged defensive battles fought at the Kuban bridgehead on the Crimean peninsula after 1 February 1943. The shield was worn on the upper left sleeve of the service and dress uniforms. These are the finest quality, die struck pieces featuring superb detail on a Field-Grey Wool backing.
