Original GDR NVA Stabsfeldwebel (Master Sergeant) rank insignia. This is the embroidered sleeve rank insignia, worn on the left upper arm or on the Left breast of Special, Technical Clothing. First issued in 1986 to Technical and Air Force personnel, in 1990 issued to all Army Troops.
